Consultants decide when a patient is fit for discharge. Discharge normally occurs during working hours and is completed before noon, where possible, to avoid additional day charges. Time taken for discharge may take upto 3 hours. Before leaving the hospital, patients must ensure the following:
- A discharge card is issued
- Copies of all reports, X-Rays etc, are kept handed over to them
- Instructions for follow-up care are received and understood
- Personal belongings have been collected
Follow Up Treatment
Follow-up visits and treatment are normally administered at the out-patient department or the consultants consulting rooms.
Note: Billing, after checking with all departments may take about 3 hours.
